Earworm of the morning...
Apr. 28th, 2009 07:07 amI usually wake up with some song running through my head, and usually I can make some connection between the song and my current state of mind. Today's morning song was Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet. I've always been a Jimmy Buffet fan– it's sorta de rigeur when you spend your teenage years in the Florida keys– and that song is his biggest hit.
I can sorta understand the logic of it. I do feel a bit like I'm wasting away without real work or real money coming in. On the other hand, I haven't had much alcohol since I got laid off. I think I've had all of one beer and one glass of wine, and that's about it. I've never been much of a drinker and I've been known to fill a glass of wine and find it untouched on my desk in the morning. So I ask my brain, "Why Margaritaville?" and get no answer.

Looking for my lost Inner Self
Some people claim that there's a karma to blame
But I know it's my own damn fault.
