Date: 2009-04-29 02:16 am (UTC)I'd rather the officials not waste my tax money on screening everyone when the majority are going to be clean. That's just stupid and inefficient. Spot checks, data mining to look for abuse patterns, etc, are much more cost effective means of enforcement than brute force and ignorance. Are some people going to slip though? Definitely. I'll accept that as the price of a more efficient system. Just as I accept that shrinkage in retail is preferable to patting down every customer as they leave the store.
