Watching the dancers.

The other day Kouryou-chan, Omaha and I all went to the local swimming pool. We were pleasantly surprised to find that one of Kouryou-chan's ballet classmates was there, with an adult from the ballet school who was not this friend's mother.
She appeared to be slightly older than I am, and in contrast to everyone else in the pool she positively radiated controlled mastery over her own body. She was pretty, sure, but more than that she looked strong. She moved like she consciously wanted to occupy the space she was in, and her lean, muscular, utterly devoid of fat lines impressed the hell out of me. She had the most powerful shoulders I've ever seen on a woman. "How do I get a body like that?" I asked Omaha.
"Probably dance for three hours every day?"
Yeah, probably. I've also watched Kouryou-chan's teacher at work, and it's so amazing to watch her put her feet, her hands, her knees and elbows, exactly where she wants them time and time again, every motion completely consciously executed. I had a brief moment of envy, even though I know that they both got that way through years of dedicated hard work.
I've been off my exercise program since Yamaraashi-chan restarted in January; they moved her transporation schedule up half an hour, and that was the half hour I dedicated to working out. I have to find some way to exercise, though, because this inactivity is making me feel slothful.

That might be the case here too.

I started exercising semi-regularly about a year and a quarter ago -- not swimming, but doing exercises in the pool -- and I really need to find a way of converting semi-regular into regular."Ask her nicely?"
