Me Too! I'm Going Galt!
Mar. 8th, 2009 11:07 amLike other hard-core, productive, industrious members of society utterly enraged by the prospect of an increase in the marginal tax rate, I hereby make this announcement: I'm Going Galt.
When I make $250,000 this year, that's it. No more productivity until next year.
When I make $250,000 this year, that's it. No more productivity until next year.

Date: 2009-03-09 12:23 pm (UTC)I have observed that people who have > $250k/year jobs tend to be people who are related to powerful people and people who are good salesmen (even if the job is not about sales) far more often than they are people who are very good at the nominal subject matter of the job.
Why I Am Not A Communist:
Communism doesn't change that.

Date: 2009-03-11 03:29 am (UTC)Funny, but for the 24 years that I've been paying taxes, I've noticed something: Every time D.C. proclaims that they've cut taxes, I find myself paying more the next April 15th. (I've known poor people, and I can tell you, it's not going to them. They're all just as poor and miserable.)
Soooo, the majority in the middle pay more taxes, the folks at the bottom stay poor … <sarcasm>Gee I Wonder Where the Money's Going</sarcasm>.
Frankly, I would rather my increased taxes go to the working poor, unemployed, or poverty-trapped than to the rich, super rich, disgustingly rich, or the multinational corporations.
