I voted first thing this morning. Oh, one other that I forgot to put on my cheat sheet: Allan Martin (R), State Treasurer. As the assistant state treasurer, he's basically the guy already doing the job; the outgoing state treasurer is a Democrat, but he's backing Martin.

The lines were short, although while I was there I heard two people take provisional ballots.

Omaha and I participated in a Get Out The Vote canvassing for Southern King County, for Dave & Tina (and by extension Barack Obama and Christine Gregoire). I ran into Dave on the way out and asked him, "So, is Tina nervous?"

"Does the Pope wear a funny hat?" Dave, by the way, is the fourth hottest politician in the country, according to ObjectifyTheVote.

We hit somewhere around 90 houses all told, with a lot of "nobody homes," one foreclosure, two McCain supporters, many "already voteds," and a few "I'll get there before they close." One man said that he was sure he should be on the rolls, but his name wasn't there when he went to vote this morning, so he put it on a provisional ballot.

We did one small precinct in Kent, and since we were "returning canvassers," we were allowed first pic of whatever precinct we wanted. We picked Omaha's.

That was a mistake. We'd both kinda forgotten how big her precinct was. The apartment complexes to the north took most of the afternoon. We broke for a Starbucks run, then did the subdivision containing our own home, which is all houses. That was easier. It was cool, but not tragically so. I met a lot of interesting people.

We caught up with the kids, then finished two more streets. We ran out of door hangers.

I'm off to Tina's campaign headquarters for an end-of-election party.
